When in Zambales - Releasing Sea Turtles at PawiCare Hatchery

I joined a school field trip a few weeks back not knowing what exactly to expect. The class was all about Legal Ethics but this educational trip was focused mainly on Environmental Ethics. All I know is that we were scheduled to release sea turtles or pawikans. Little did I know that this experience would become one of the most meaningful in my life.

We visited several places at San Antonio and San Narciso at Zambales, such as Casa San Miguel and Hiyas ng Kalikasan, before heading to Pawicare. We arrived at Brgy. La Paz at San Narciso a little after 4 in the afternoon. We then had an orientation about PawiCare and sea turtles. We were also informed about safety reminders in handling the baby sea turtles or hatchlings.

Last Minute Summer Outing Shopping Tips

It is pretty clear with the frequent rains visiting us everyday that summer's coming to an end. I am pretty sure that you all have a one last summer outing in your mind because I sure do. One trip to the beach during the summer to catch the waves or lounge in the sand is never enough. More often than not, these trips do not go through serious planning. Thus, we always find ourselves hastening in getting prepared.

There are some essentials that we need (or want) when it comes to summer outings. I always find myself browsing through online shops and searching for a new bikini every time I have a trip. Who has the time to go to the mall anyways? Nevertheless, I always end up using old ones because there aren't good deals online unless I have some Zalora shopping vouchers readily available. The other week, my sister was in a hurry to buy a tent for an impromptu camping trip. Since there aren't much choice in the mall, she ended up renting a costly one.

The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99% Fresh Soothing Gel Review

A few months back, I started taking facial skincare seriously. It started with sunblocks, then day and night moisturizers, then eye creams and gels, although I am still looking forward to adding masks, toners, or scrubs in my skincare routine. Prior to trying out The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99% Fresh Soothing Gel, I was using a cream based day moisturizer but I find it too thick for Manila's boiling weather. After seeing good feedback about aloe gels in general, I finally decided to get one. I was planning to buy an Aloe Vera Gel in a tub container from Althea and actually regretted not getting one. Luckily I went to a The Face Shop stall at Century City Mall and found out that they have it in a tube container. It has the same amount of contents and has the same price of P199 for a 300ml tube/tub.

The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99% Fresh Soothing Gel Review

I am not really particular when it comes to the skin care products that I put in my face, that is, I don't really pay attention to the brand. As long as it keeps my skin clear and it is affordable, I am willing to give it a try. I didn't have high expectations with The Face Shop Jeju Aloe 99% Fresh Soothing Gel but it definitely amazed me! As regards the price, each tube/tub is affordable! Since I only use it on my face and a little amount of product goes a long way, I think one tube could last at least half a year. No need to worry about the product expiring quickly because I got mine this year and it is due to expire on 2018.

When in La Union - Tangadan Falls Tour and Surfing at San Juan

I didn't know that there are tons of activities to try out at San Juan, La Union. All I had in mind was getting burnt from staying at the beach all day. I didn't even want to try out surfing cause it's not something that fancies me. But when I woke up during our first day of stay, I was told that we were touring Tangadan Falls. So I skipped breakfast, brushed my teeth, and washed my face and we went to the falls at around 9 in the morning.

On our way to Tangadan Falls

Tangadan Falls is a 15 minute ride from The Circle Hostel. Inclusive in our tour fee was a jeepney and two tour guides to help us in our trek. I wasn't really prepared for this one. I didn't bring anything with me except money and my camera. We passed through narrow pathways that made me wish I was wearing trekking sandals and not flipflops and tons of beautiful scenery that made me stop every now and then to take photos. It wasn't extreme like hiking in the mountains but there are portions which are slippery, especially the ones by the river. I am not sure if there's an age limit for this tour but I think one should be fit to walk for long and could withstand the heat. Just imagine commuting through EDSA. If you could survive that, then you're fit for Tangadan Falls lol!

Jump in!

The summer heat in the metro can get unbearable sometimes and all you want to do is jump into the closest pool to just cool down. So why not make it a regular thing? You’ll be amazed at the benefits you get from taking that plunge. But don’t let the heat be the only reason for you to start those regular laps in your pool. Here’s a few more to really give you that extra motivation to get into swimming.

The Streamline Sports Instruction special media swimming trial session kicked off with these adorable kids having some swimming lessons.

Do it for your health
As a swimmer, you gain muscle strength throughout the entire body since you utilize more muscle groups as you move through the water and helps with overall flexibility.

The team uses a learning-through play, non-traumatic approach where they sing songs, play games, and use toys for the children to have fun and for them to have an enjoyable experience.

Energen launches the Healthy Breakfast Movement

Nutrition problems, such as childhood undernutrition and adult obesity, remain prevalent in the country. According to the DOST Food and Nutrition Research Institute, 6 out of 10 Filipino households suffer from poor nutrition. These nutrition problems are attributed to poor eating habits, such as skipping meals or having an unbalanced diet. And these unhealthy practices can ultimately lead to poor performance in school or at work.
