My Flawless Beauty Transformation

Initially, I thought that my post-pregnancy problem would be losing all the weight that I've put on. Everyone, especially my lola, kept on reminding me to watch my diet cause I might never be able to get back in shape. Luckily, I got my pre-pregnancy figure in no time. Thanks to breastfeeding, sleepless nights and law school! Now when I look at myself in the mirror, I do not really see any post-pregnancy damage except for my stretch marks which I have come to love and accept. But when I come to think of it, my real beauty problem is actually something I've had for long: my uneven skin tone.

Dear Santa, this Christmas I wish to have clear, even and smooth skin just like Z's! :)
I've didn't really have the nicest skin growing up. Yes, I rarely have pimples, but my skin is not even and makinis at all. I was very tanned when I was in elementary school because of frequent swimming since my sisters and I have free access to a swimming resort nearby. We'd go there almost everyday to frolic under the sun. On top of that, my family and I would go to the beach at least once a year. Who could not resist the sun, the water, and the sand? No one!

I was a beach bum!

Upon entering high school, I got more conscious with my skin and refrained from swimming and being exposed in the sun whenever I could. Of course, we'd still have our annual beach trips. However, I was never able to achieve the skin tone that I was aiming for. I still have that dark face, arms and legs and got lighter skin tone and better skin texture on my body and thighs. I know that tan lines are hot. But after quite some time, they could look very unpleasant. Moving forward, my pregnancy has also contributed to my uneven skin tone. The darkening of some body parts is just inevitable, especially that I had a baby boy. Sadly, my underarms, the back of my neck and inner thighs got darker. It subdued but never returned to its original shade.

Almost due! You could probably see what I am talking about here.

If I would be given a chance by the generous Santas of Flawless to have the clear and even skin that I've been dreaming of, I would definitely try their Flawless White! I've tried different brightening, whitening and lightening soaps, lotions, oils and creams, you name it! But none of them seem to work and even out my skin tone. I think it's about time that I try something that would enhance my skin's appearance from the inside. There's nothing to be feared as I am assured that the procedure is safe cause it is done by only by the licensed doctors of Flawless. Not only do I get the clear and bright skin that I want, it also serves as an anti-oxidant. It's like hitting two birds with one stone!

Z's Birthday Party!

Hello guys! Here's my long overdue blog post about Z's birthday party. :p It was held last November 18 at Mcdonalds Regalado Fairview as I have mentioned in my Planning For Z's Birthday post. I could say that I was really satisfied with Mcdonalds Regalado's service, it's just my guests were running late. Haha! The manager did a good job hosting the party and the food was on time. They even let us extend for about 30 minutes since we started the party super late.

Games for the kiddos!

Grimace and Birdie (don't know her name) danced for the kids. :)

Instant pinata.

The cake was done by Ms. May of Sweetbox Specialty Pastries and Sweets. We didn't get the chance to eat it during the party due to Mcdo's policy. But we ate the whole thing when we got home. :p I've never really liked fondant cakes because it's too sweet, but this one was really nice. The fondant was, of course, really sweet, but the chocolate cake itself was not so much. Rather, it was moist and yummy. :)

We hired a photo booth because most of my guests are adults and I'd rather have them take home photos during the event than key chains that they would never use. :p We hired Happy Face Booth and they also did a really great job! They were actually there earlier than us, so they had the whole thing set up already even before we arrive. They also did the layout which I really love and the quality of their print outs are really nice.

It's Mail Time!

Came home to these goodies one hell day from school. I had a bad recit at my Obligations and Contracts class that day so these definitely made me better. I've been actually waiting for these (except the LBC one) for months now. Finally, they're here! :)

Floral Print Bandeau Shift Dress from Romwe.com

I was planning to wear this to a friend's wedding last October. I wasn't able to come anyway. Then I decided to wear it instead for Z's birthday, but I got no luck cause it only arrived just recently.

Floral Print Sheer Back Vest from Romwe.com

This pretty top is for my mom! I got it because I have a similar shirt from Romwe as well that she really likes wearing. I was supposed to give this on her birthday but I'm already a month late. :p

Sunset Glow Printed Leggings from Romwe.com

This pair of pretty leggings are for my youngest sister who made all the DIYs. :) She's been eyeing this for quite some time. I got this for her birthday, too.

Colorful Badge Accessory from Romwe.com

Can't wait to wear this one! :)

Safeguard Active Gift Packs + 1,000 Sodexo GC (not in the photo. :p)  from http://nuffnang.com.ph and Safeguard!

And lastly, here's the prize I won from Nuffnang and Safeguard Active's blogging contest. Here's my "almost" winning entry: http://starmishie.blogspot.com/2012/09/i-can-exceed-my-limitations.html.

Till next post!

Z's Now 1!

You probably all know that I am a young mommy. Having Z was really unexpected. I won't say it was a mistake, but merely something or someone that I did not expect at that point of my life. But nonetheless, I came to accept what was given to me and I couldn't be any happier. His smiles, his milestones, his laughter, even his cries makes me happy. I learned how to love someone more than myself without any pretensions and I can truly say that I'll do anything for this person without any hesitations. Z's now one year old and time really goes by so fast! In no time, he'll be talking nonstop and running everywhere. But I'd rather take things one stop at a time and enjoy every moment and every milestone that he achieves. I wish my son all the best things in the world that's why I am doing my best as well to finish law school and eventually become a lawyer. I wish for him to be a good and wise boy when he grows older. But baby, please don't grow up too fast! :)

I LOVE YOU Z! ♥

Z's Photobooth Shoot

Here are the photos that I took which were used for Z's photobooth layout. We hired, by the way, Happy Face Booth. I had a hard time taking pictures of Z considering that I was alone and I had to take the photo, grab his attention, and keep him in his place all at the same time. But it was fun! Z got to wear his cowboy costume which I got from Mommylist from Multiply. :) I'll post about his birthday party soon!

Till next post!

Z's First Haircut

Hello guys! Z had his first haircut the day after his first birthday. We had it done at a Kids Salon at SM Fairview. I forgot the name of the salon lol. I actually was not there when he had his first haircut because I was at school, but my mom, my lola and my sisters were there to support him. My lola was the first one to cut his hair. According to some pamahiin, the first hair cut should be made by someone intelligent so that the baby would follow his/her footsteps. My lola is more than qualified to be his first barber. :) As you can see from the photos, he was crying. He probably got scared with the razor. However, when the barber used scissors, he seemed to be more calm. We'll be receiving his certificate in a few days. I'll post about it as soon as I receive it. :)

Supreme Court Tour

My classmates and I went to the Supreme Court one Friday for our Legal Research and Bibliography class. Where I studied my undergraduate course, UP Manila, is actually located beside the Supreme Court and I happen to pass by the SC building almost every single day for the past 3 years, but I have never been inside. So even if I'm so fed up with Padre Faura St. (:p), I still went with the tour just to satisfy my curiosity and besides it's required and it's not everyday that you'll be given a chance to get inside.

This is where the En Banc sessions of the Supreme Court are being held.

That's the seat of the Chief Justice at my back. :)

Dress - 168 Mall
Blazer - Mom's
Bag - Guess
Necklace - R&K Manila
Prescription Glasses - c/o Firmoo.com
Shoes - Scarlet flats from Zalora

Well the tour was not really a tour, but more of an introduction and explanation of the history and the features of the Supreme Court. But nonetheless, I learned a lot. And I was really amazed to see a place that I only get to see in the television. Maybe someday, I'll be working in this same institution. Hmmmm. We'll see. :)

Planning for Z's 1st Birthday

Z's birthday is still more than a month away, but I can't help but feel worried about not having prepared everything yet. It's not like a wedding or something that needs long preparation, but I wanted to throw the best party cause it's Z's 1st. I was actually relaxed about the idea of the party because I was thinking that I still have a long time to plan and prepare for the birthday. But it suddenly hit me that one and a half month would go by really fast. So here I am trying to figure out if I am missing something or if there is something that I can improve.

I realized that birthdays are more complicated than baptisms. While baptisms have more elements into it, birthdays are more intricate and detailed than the other. Planning for Z's baptism was in my opinion easier cause there was no pressure to have it extravagant. I've always wanted it simple and intimate. I did have a hard time working on Z's baptism because of the limited time, but still it went well because of the small number of guests. However, this time we decided to invite more guests who were not able to come to the baptism.

So here are the things I have prepared so far:

1. Venue
  • Long before the party, we have already planned to have it at either Mcdonalds Regalado or Jollibee Regalado which are, by the way, opposite with each other. :p Anyway, we decided to have it in Mcdonalds because the party packages are a little bit cheaper than the latter and we like their food better.
  • What I like about having it in a fast food restaurant is that they offer everything that you need. The food, host, decors, loot bags, invitations are already inclusive in the party package or are available at their store.

2. Theme
  • We initially wanted a Sesame Street theme. However, Mcdonalds does not carry that theme. We have to decided between Mickey Mouse, Ronald Mcdonalds and Gang, and Toy Story. We chose Toy Story. We'll do the Sesame Street theme next time. :)

3. Guest list
  • We have already reserved food with Mcdo for 80 guests. We haven't finalize our guest list yet, but we might exceed 80.

4. Costume
  • Since we're having a Toy Story theme, Z would be Woody! :) I haven't bought the costume yet cause the seller's not yet sure if there's still a size for him. *crossesfingers* It's quite hard to look for costumes at this time cause Halloween's coming soon. As for me, will probably go for a Barbie costume. :p

5. Invitations and Tarpaulin
  • There were 30 pieces of invitation that were included in the birthday package. I'll give those to Z's godparents and other relatives. As for the other guests, will probably send an e-invite again just like what I did in his baptism. I already downloaded a template and I'll just edit it using Photoshop. :)
  • I am not sure if I'll print a tarpaulin cause Mcdonalds already has one. Will have to inquire first with them regarding this.

6. Souvenirs
  • Also included in the package are 30 pieces of loot bag with Toy Story toys. Will probably add candies in the bag. :)
  • My mom rented a photobooth to serve as a souvenir for the adults. I am pretty sure that they won't appreciate figurines and stuff. I am not sure which supplier my mom got.

7. Cake Supplier
  • We initally wanted to get the cake from Mcdonalds to save ourselves some time and effort but they only have generic birthday cakes. I decided to get Sheryberry cause I've heard some great reviews about her at SP Forums. Unforunately, she's already fully booked. I'm considering other bake shops, but they do not respond asap. :( I want a one or two layer cake with a Woody topper. If you guys have any cake supplier suggestions, please comment below. :)

8. Photo Services
  • I am not sure if I'll get one. My dad has a nice camera, but I think no one can deal with taking the photos during the party, just like what happened during Z's baptism. Will have to talk my mom into this. :)

That's my list so far! If you have suggestions please comment below or send me an email to starmishie@ymail.com. :) Thanks!

Shoe Haul from Zalora!

I got a special discount code from Zalora for my birthday so I decided to use it to buy some new shoes for me and my baby Z. I was so ecstatic when they started offering Scarlet shoes because they're really affordable and almost all of the sizes are available. I ordered a pair of flats for me and a pair of baby slippers for Z last Friday and paid them the same day through Metrobank deposit (which is the most convenient payment method for me). Unfortunately, the package came in just this Wednesday. Probably because I live in Bulacan or probably because I opt to pay via bank deposit which takes more time because of the confirmation, etc. But nonetheless, I am happy because the package has already arrived. :)

Pretty color, right? :)
Scarlet A210 Flats in Powder Blue - P399

The shoes are quite small. I usually wear a size 6 or 36 and I really don't know why this pair does not fit me well. I don't know if I just have fat feet or what. Haha! I emailed Zalora about this. Unfortunately, they only replace defective products or if there has been a mistake in size or color of the product upon delivery. But it's okay because I absolutely love the color of the shoes! :)

Banana Peel Ninja Baby Slippers - P220

I actually had a hard time figuring out the sizes of Banana Peel baby slippers from Zalora's website so I decided to check out if Banana Peel has their own site to check for sizes. Fortunately, they have one and I was able to check the sizes of baby slippers from there. :) I don't want to go all the way to the mall to check sizes cause I think it would defeat the purpose of online shopping.

Anyway, this pair from Banana Peel is just so cute! The print is very versatile and can match any outfit. It fits Z perfectly. It would probably last us a few months because he's growing up so fast and I just wanted a pair of slippers that he can wear especially when we are going out. I am just so glad that baby Z likes them.He even wants to eat them. HAHA!

I'd say that my first shopping experience with Zalora was okay. There are still points of improvements such as the speeding up of the payments done via bank deposit and the shoe size chart. But I am still satisfied with their service especially that they are offering free shipping fee for all orders.

By the way, you may buy the products that I have also purchased HERE and HERE! :) Don't forget to use the discount code MishRendon1 to get a 10% discount on your orders. :)
