Kiwiberry1-Collection GnG/Dueba ML5 Rose Aqua Blue Circle Lens Review

I've never been a fan of blue contact lenses, primarily because they don't suit my complexion really well. But I am definitely eager to try them just to see if they would look good on me. Luckily, Kiwiberry1-Collection.com sent me a pair of GnG/Dueba ML5 Rose Aqua Blue circle lenses to review. :)

Details about the GnG/Dueba ML5 Rose Aqua Blue from their Website:
Color:   Aqua Blue
Diameter: 14.2mm
Base Curve: 8.6
Water Content: 38%

Packaging and Service:

Kiwiberry1-Collection did a really good job in making sure that the vials are secure. They placed it in a bubble wrap together with the contact lens cases, a special note from them, and the instruction manual. Again, I would like to stress out the importance of instruction manuals as the improper use of this product could lead to the damage of our precious eyes.

The package came in just on time. And the awesome people from our post office sent them directly to our house! Kiwiberry1-Collection were also prompt in responding to emails, except during the time when they were having problems with their system. But it's no biggie. :)

Color, Design, Enlargement and Comfort:

Without flash / Natural lighting
With flash

When I first saw the lenses on me, I really cannot see the change in the color nor the design of the lenses. I have really dark eyes and all I can see was the subtle enlargement. It looks black on my eyes. But when I saw the photos, I was amazed on how the blue just popped out. I thought blue won't look good on me because its boldness. But on the contrary, it looks great! The blueness of the lens blends well with my eyes and is not too harsh. Since the ring is not that thick, the lenses actually seem natural, especially in normal lighting.

The design is really cute! I have never tried circle lens with fancy prints on it. Surprisingly, the print is very subtle when worn, probably because of my dark eyes. As for the enlargement, there was a difference with the size of my eyes but it was not that significant. But since I am not really into lenses that are too big, the enlargement is already sufficient.

I have no problems in terms of comfort. I actually forgot that I am wearing them. They can be drying when worn for too long. But other than that, they are really great!

More photos:

Foundation - Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in Beige
Eyeliner - Maybelline Define -A-Line in  Black
Eyeshadow and Brows - Elf Eye Shadow Duo in Black Licorice and Elf Lengthening Mascara in Brown
False Eyelashes - Kiwiberry1-Collection Black Eyelashes in #4

Top (Dress) - Charlotte Russe

Over all, I am satisfied with my first blue contact lens experience. It wasn't really bad at all. I didn't have problems with the lens except again with opening the vials. The color and the design seem really bold for me, but are actually subtle when worn. The enlargement was sufficient for my liking. And the contact lens were really comfortable, however, I've never worn them for more than 5 hours. To top it off, Kiwiberry1-Collection's customer service is commendable!

Check out Kiwiberry1-Collection.com now to get your own pair of circle lens. They ship internationally so anyone from everywhere can avail of their products. They have tons of different lenses to choose from. Aside from that, they also have false lashes to complete your look!

Laid Back

The past weekend was very laid back. The classes were suspended last Saturday. My sisters told me that the rain in Manila was nonstop so I decided not to go to school anymore because I am pretty sure that the roads are flooded already. I was actually praying for it because I wasn't ready for that day. I was thankful that it happened because I had tons of cases to read.

Here's what I wore to the mall last Sunday. We had a small despedida celebration for my mom cause she'll be going out of the country to have a vacation. I absolutely think she deserves it given the fact that she's been working nonstop.

I finally got to wear my top from Oasap! I actually love how easy breezy it looks and feels when worn. The only issue I had with it is that it is too big. I had the armhole fixed. But nonetheless, I love it!

Anyway, it was Z's first time to roam around the mall. He was very curious as he keeps on looking around. We usually stay in the grocery whenever we go to the mall because I don't want to expose him to people too soon as he might catch some sickness from other people.

Shoes - Solemate

The shorts I am wearing is actually a DIY. My sister's really good with them. She even made a dip dyed shredded shirt that's so awesome. I'll post about it later. :)

Zalora: Your One Stop Online Shop!

I'm so glad to inform all of you that I am now one of Zalora Philippines' Brand Ambassadors! I'm pretty sure you've all heard of Zalora because it is one of the largest and most popular online shops in the country.

What differentiates this shop from the rest is their awesome customer service. Here is what they are offering:

My favorite Zalora feature would be the same day delivery! I just hate it when I have to wait for a package which sometimes takes days or weeks. I also like the safe transaction feature, which is so important nowadays that bogus sellers and scammers are prevalent.

Aside from that, they have tons of brands and products to choose from! They seriously have everything that you can think of, from clothes, beauty products, shoes and bags! They even have baby products and home and living products. Don't you just love it when everything you need is just a click away? :) Anyway, you may check out my ZALORA Wishlist HERE.

Super quick outfit post! :D

I seriously cannot stop wearing black and white pieces! They're always my go to colors when looking for something to wear to class. It can be paired with just anything and it is classy as is! Anyway, this is what I wore for our class picture. I think a nice blazer would complete this look. But I am still on a lookout for the perfect blazer cause most of the blazers that I have encountered are too big for my frame. :)

See the awesome detail of the skirt? This skirt, by the way, is thrifted. I am not good with thrift shopping, probably because I don't have the patience. My sister bought this one. She is the thrift queen of the family. :)

Top - Beatriz
Skirt - Thrifted
Bracelet - from Singapore
Shoes - Chelsea

These suede heels are the comfiest! I refrain from wearing heels to school because of the lengthy walk, but these don't hurt my feet at all. :)

I hope you don't get tired of my black and white ensemble. :p

Aye Aye Captain!

I created a "What to Wear in Law School" polyvore collage using this same top from Oasap.com in a previous blog post. When I saw in that Oasap has stock of this item, I immediately ordered one! It received it a week ago and my mom was the first one to wear it. Lol!

This top reminds me of a sailor's costume. The colors are nautical-inspired and the collar and ribbon in front is actually the same with that of a sailor's costume. I was actually thinking of naming the post "Sailor Moon" or "Sailor Girl", but I'd rather name it the way I did. :p

Anyway, I have always dreamed of having a black patent flats to wear to school. I finally got one from SM Department Store. And this pair cost me only 300 pesos (More or less $6)! I am planning on getting a few more pairs so I could alternate them. I often abuse my shoes through wearing them every single day.

Blanc et Noir

I've read somewhere or probably was taught to me in school that black and white aren't really colors. They are merely the absence and the presence of light, respectively. I'm no scientist so I am not really sure. Haha! But I have always considered myself as the nerdy type. I have always been fascinated with literature, history and geography, so as natural science. I didn't really like physics and chemistry cause it felt like those concepts are intangible. I prefer more the study of the Earth and our nature. I knew all the countries' capital cities and can recognize their flags when I was a kid. I can remember most till now but I seem to have forgotten some. I also love reading classical novels. I don't usually read popular books, unless a copy of the book was given to me as a gift. I love the writings of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Ernest Hemingway. If there is one subject matter that I wish I could skip, it would probably be math. I would probably never understand why I had to study trigonometry in high school.

Anyway, my regular outfit to school usually consist of black and white items. I don't know if it's because of my limited clothes or because I feel like black and white clothes make me appear more formal. It is probably because of the former. :p

This awesome button down shirt I am wearing is from Oasap.com. It is absolutely perfect for school! Although, I am still in a search for a skirt to pair this with because I seriously don't have any pants or skirt that I could use to pull off a corporate attire. But nonetheless, this shirt is great not just for pulling of a corporate look, but also for a casual look. Just pair it with a denim shorts and flats, and you're good to go! :)

09 July 2012

I initially started this blog to post things about my baby and me, thus the name LBD and Onesies. But it has turned out to become a blog of my personal style! So let us take a quick break from my outfit posts and see what my son has been up to lately. :)

Now that Z's almost 8 months, we usually bring him out of the house to have fun and to get familiarized with other people. But we rarely go to crowded places as he might get infected from other people. This one was taken at my mom's office when we picked her up.

He started eating when he was 6 months old. Nope, we did not gave him Cerelac. HAHA! They say it's too sweet and my baby might become picky with food. He eats Gerber and his favorite is the broccoli one. :)

My sisters love playing with Z. He looks annoyed here because my sisters want to try blonde hair on him so he'll look like Justin Bieber. Haha! That's my sister's blonde ombre roots, by the way.

This is his new hobby. Eating his foot lol! He just did it one day and I just had to take a photo of him.

Playing dracula! He now can stand with support and in no time, he'll be able to walk already! He's also very talkative! He's such a cutie, right? He now knows how to smile to the camera! :)

07 July 2012

Just a quick outfit post! I wore this to school one random day. It was the first time that I sported my hair braided to school! I rarely do anything with my hair except for letting it down or putting it in a bun. And besides I cannot braid my own hair. Lol. I asked my sister to do a fishtail braid on me but she told me it is difficult to do with my slippery hair so I settled with the regular braids. :)

Blue and Gold

Don't be fooled by my photos, ladies! A friend blogger and schoolmate, Chay of My Kichay Kit, was surprised to find out that I am really petite. I am only 5 foot flat, by the way. I don't know if it's in the angle of taking photos or the dark pants that make my body, particularly the lower part of my body, seem taller than it really is.

Anyway, this is my usual outfit to school. I rarely wear heels because the walk from my school to where I ride the bus is quite far. I don't want to abuse my feet, of course! I also always wear jeans because I commute everyday and it is very challenging to commute in Manila. I am sure every Manila girl could attest to that.

Anyway, don't you think this necklace is gorgeous? I got this piece, together with a pair of earrings which I'll be featuring as well soon, from Romwe.com. I am definitely satisfied with their service. The products were safely placed in the bubble wrap to prevent damage. Although, the processing of the items took a while, the products arrived on time after shipment. And I am satisfied with the outcome of the products cause sometimes products sold online are not really what are posted on the photos.

ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 in Malt Shake

Hello girls! As promised, I will be posting product reviews of ELF cosmetics and this would be the second one of those. These products, by the way, were sent to me by ELF Cosmetics Philippines and all of the opinion stated in this post is entirely mine. Please check out the my review of ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick as well, HERE. :)
ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine in Malt Shake
The product that I'll be reviewing next is the ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine in Malt Shake. Anyway, when I was younger, I was a huge lip gloss fan because it was the only makeup I could wear to school. I've always had dull and dark lips and tinted lip glosses would be my lifesaver, giving my lip a subtle color, so I won't look dead. Now that I could already wear lipstick anytime I want, I no longer became a fan of lip glosses simply because I don't want to put more emphasis on my already full lips. Lip glosses have the tendency to make the lips look more full and plumper than they really are and I already have huge lips. My sisters even call me Dory (from Finding Nemo) or fish lips because of my lips. Haha! But I really don't get offended. I still wear lip glosses from time to time whenever I want more shine on my lips. :)

Info about the product from ELF's Website

This Super Glossy formula leaves your lips with a healthy glossy glow. The delicious flavor and sweet scent will leave you licking your lips in delight. The perfect on-the-go tube that is mess-proof for easy application anywhere and anytime. Wear alone or layered over your favorite lipsticks for gorgeous, glossy lips!

Straight from the tube!
The good:
- It has a nice subtle pink-brown shade. It is very sheer on it's own, but you may opt to use it over a lipstick to get a glossy finish.
- The scent and the taste is pleasant  and not strong which I personally like.
- The packaging is very convenient to use and it fits well in my small make up bag.
- It is very affordable! Only P129. (Actually most of their products are of the same price)
- Available locally. Finally!
- The best thing about it is that it has SPF 15. Yay for sun protection!

The not so good:
- It gets sticky after quite some time.
- It sometimes feels heavy on the lips.
- Lip glosses in general makes my lips look fuller.
- No moisturizing effect. I need to wear first a lip balm before using the product.

Swatch on my arm
With flash
Without flash
(Used my sister's lips again :p)
Overall, this product is a must buy for all the lip gloss lovers out there! It is perfect for everyday use and one tube goes a loooong way. It is affordable and they have more shades available aside from Malt Shake. :)

To find out more about ELF Cosmetics Philippines, check them out on Facebook and Twitter. :)

Are you a lip gloss lover? :)
