The Lake District: Comfort Filipino Food with a Twist

I was in Tagaytay a few weeks back for a series of events, one of which was a trip to a relatively new Modern Filipino restaurant - The Lake District. I think visiting The Lake District was very timely since it was raining hard that night and when experiencing such weather, nothing beats comfort food or home cooked meals.

The Lake District has a modern rustic interior - brick walls, contemporary fixtures, and comfortable seats. I personally love their spacious bar. There's also a spot near the restroom consisting of a red wall filled with lights where you could do a mini photoshoot (which we did). 

Mama Lou's Opens at Ayala Malls The 30th

Mama Lou's never fails to make me feel at home! I know I've already featured Mama Lou's in my blog before for their Evia Lifestyle Center opening, but I guess there's always something new to try every time I visit. My recent visit at their latest branch at Ayala Malls The 30th was quite nostalgic. The rustic vibe and hearty meals seem all familiar. And I get to enjoy it with old and new blogger friends. :)

As usual, Mama Lou's was packed during our visit. Their branch at Ayala Malls The 30th wasn't as spacious as the one in Evia Lifestyle Center (which had two levels) but it could accommodate quite a number of guests. Of course, the crowd isn't just a hype. I believe it is mainly attributable to their hearty and homey dishes that are reasonably priced. Anyway, here are some of the dishes that we were able to try that night:

End Your Day Right at After All Bar and Grill

After a long day at work, there is nothing more fun and entertaining than hanging out with friends and family over good food. This idea was basically how a new resto-bar, After All Bar and Grill, was conceptualized. After All was started by a group of friends who felt that fun and business can go together, that friendship should last forever, and that a resto-bar set up can best achieve this objective, where there is good food, good music, and good laughter.

After All is conveniently located at SM Jazz Mall in Makati. It's a perfect after-office destination especially for those working within the area. I would also recommend going there for lunch where you could enjoy their food together with your office mates. During the day it's a hip lunch spot, but at night it becomes a chill bar with bands starting to play at eight in the evening everyday.
