Shop Feature: Shy Shop

If there is one word that will describe Shy Shop, it would be cool! Their products are absolutely the coolest I've seen among online shops. They sell novelty items, accessories, bags and wallets among others. They actually offer tons of products and choosing your favorite item from their shop would be so difficult. But nonetheless, I made a list. :)

Here are my favorite Shy Shop items:

Candy Slim Wallets - P120

Dress Up Jewelry Organizer - P180

This would be perfect for my messy accessories. :)

Ice Lolly Umbrella - P80

Anchor Stripe Pouch - P125

Spin Pins - P65/pack

Cheaper than the ones from the mall!

Funny Kids Raincoat - P185

I wonder how would Z look in them. :)

Super Mini Pochi Purse - P100

The Incredible Gyro Bowl - P120

This is perfect for Z now that he's now eating a lot!

Canon Lens Cup - P260

Cool! Nuff said.

Bangs Curler Clip - P40
I have really flat and limp hair and I think I need this one. :)

Beauty Eye Mask with Gel Pad - P75

See what I mean? :) There are actually other products that I like as well, but these ones are my most favorite! I think that their products are not shy, at all, of cuteness and affordability. Shy Shop is based in Marikina but they ship their products anywhere within the country. :) Please do check out their shop and don't forget to like their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/ShyShop

Anyway, Shy Shop sent me some products to share to you, my lovely readers!

Shoe Haul from Zalora!

I got a special discount code from Zalora for my birthday so I decided to use it to buy some new shoes for me and my baby Z. I was so ecstatic when they started offering Scarlet shoes because they're really affordable and almost all of the sizes are available. I ordered a pair of flats for me and a pair of baby slippers for Z last Friday and paid them the same day through Metrobank deposit (which is the most convenient payment method for me). Unfortunately, the package came in just this Wednesday. Probably because I live in Bulacan or probably because I opt to pay via bank deposit which takes more time because of the confirmation, etc. But nonetheless, I am happy because the package has already arrived. :)

Pretty color, right? :)
Scarlet A210 Flats in Powder Blue - P399

The shoes are quite small. I usually wear a size 6 or 36 and I really don't know why this pair does not fit me well. I don't know if I just have fat feet or what. Haha! I emailed Zalora about this. Unfortunately, they only replace defective products or if there has been a mistake in size or color of the product upon delivery. But it's okay because I absolutely love the color of the shoes! :)

Banana Peel Ninja Baby Slippers - P220

I actually had a hard time figuring out the sizes of Banana Peel baby slippers from Zalora's website so I decided to check out if Banana Peel has their own site to check for sizes. Fortunately, they have one and I was able to check the sizes of baby slippers from there. :) I don't want to go all the way to the mall to check sizes cause I think it would defeat the purpose of online shopping.

Anyway, this pair from Banana Peel is just so cute! The print is very versatile and can match any outfit. It fits Z perfectly. It would probably last us a few months because he's growing up so fast and I just wanted a pair of slippers that he can wear especially when we are going out. I am just so glad that baby Z likes them.He even wants to eat them. HAHA!

I'd say that my first shopping experience with Zalora was okay. There are still points of improvements such as the speeding up of the payments done via bank deposit and the shoe size chart. But I am still satisfied with their service especially that they are offering free shipping fee for all orders.

By the way, you may buy the products that I have also purchased HERE and HERE! :) Don't forget to use the discount code MishRendon1 to get a 10% discount on your orders. :)

I Can Exceed My Limitations!

I have never been the athletic type, although I've always wanted to get engaged in sports. I can barely breathe after a few minutes of jog and, in my opinion, my built is not suitable for sports. I spent elementary and the first two years of my high school dealing with books and friends and crushes. :p Then came the summer of 2005... I was invited by a friend to try out for our school's cheering squad, the School of Saint Anthony (SSA) Seagulls Pep Squad. I cannot tumble or do splits then and I dance awkwardly. Fortunately, most of the members are graduating and they need all the students that they can recruit and train to keep the team going. I did not know what to expect, but I know it's going to be tough.

My seniors! SSA Pep Squad Batch 2003- 2004 - JNJ Champions

They say cheer leading is not a sport. People just got it all wrong. Cheer leading needs (LOTS of) discipline, including the exhausting and deadly training after school and on weekends, watching what you eat and as well as keeping up with your academics. The training, by the way, consists of cheer dance, gymnastics, ballet, hip hop and jazz classes. You just can't absent yourself from any training unless there is a very important reason for you to do so. It's not that you'll get kicked out of the team, but you would not be able to gain new skills. Cheer leaders are versatile performers and athletes. And we are not mean girls, just like what the movies portray. We are a family in our team! And even if we are now in our separate ways, we still communicate with each other and reminisce our days. :)

With my cheer family! :)

Having no background in gymnastics and dance, this great experience has taught me to exceed my limitations. I can still remember when I first learned to do the perfect cartwheel. It was two weeks before my first competition and my knees are still bent whenever I do a cartwheel. My gymnastics coach told me that I have to do it right because my team is counting on me. That conversation served as an inspiration for me to persevere more. I was able to do a cartwheel without bent knees on the day of the competition and thereafter. There was also this another instance where I was scared to fly. Everyone was required to fly in least one pyramid sequence.  Honestly, I am not that good of a flyer. I could only do the basic stuff and I was asked to do some complicated routine. My coach told me to trust my lifters and myself and I would be able to do it. And I did! To top that off, we won nationals! :)

Alabang Town Center Cheerdance Competition 2005 - Champions!
Central Colleges of the Philippines Cheerdance Competition 2005 - Champions!
That's me on the left. ;)
My last competition! National Cheerleading Championship - Champions! :)
Whenever you learn a new skill in cheer leading and gymnastics, you just want to exceed what you can already do. I started with a cartwheel, then front walk, then back walk, then side aerial, then backhand spring, and so on. The skills are endless and it is up to you to best yourself! Unfortunately, I have already retired from cheer leading and I don't think my c-section scar would allow me to tumble again. :) But I still feel accomplished, that being someone clueless with the sport, I was able to do my best and win all of my competitions. I can now run for 10 minutes without feeling like I'm dying. I was able to acquire a great physique which amazingly shrank fast after I gave birth. I can still do fancy cheer leading stuff such as scorpions and heel stretches that I never imagine that I would be able to do. These accomplishments would not be possible without the help of my team mates and my amazing and patient coaches! I would definitely not be able to exceed my limitations if not for the trust that they gave me.

Some fancy stuff that I learned. :)

Since cheer leading is a very physical sport, I don't think it is possible to exceed your limitations if you are bothered with bad hygiene. Of course, with all those daily strenuous training, it is important to keep a good hygiene for you and your team mates also who would be lifting you. Thank God for the new Safeguard Active with 12-Hour Odor Protection! It could help athletes to exceed their limitations and their personal best just like Coach Rio Dela Cruz. To know more about him and his accomplishment, better check out this video here: #BeatCoachRio by Safeguard Active. :)

As for my most favorite cheer team, it is no other than the UP Pep Squad! Don't forget to watch and support them at the UAAP Cheerdance Competition at the SM MOA Arena on Saturday or on Studio23. :)

How about you? How did you exceed your limitations? :)

Uniqso GEO - XCM215 Super Angel Grey Circle Lens Review

Hello guys! I'll be reviewing another pair of circle lens yet again. The one I'll be reviewing in this post is the GEO - XCM215 Super Angel Grey from Uniqso.com. This is actually the third grey lenses I have tried, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of them because the color suits my skin really well and I don't need to wear my glasses, too. :p

Photo from Uniqso's site

Info about the GEO - XCM215 Super Angel Grey from Uniqso.com:

Manufacturer: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.80mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.60
Available Power: 0 to -7.00
Place of Origin: Korea

Packaging and Service:

Again, Uniqso has never failed to respond promptly to my emails and queries. They also sent the package right away! I received it around 2 weeks after they informed me about the review. Sometimes, the delay is actually caused by the local post office, but I have no complaints because they deliver my packages straight to my home. :)

Uniqso also has the cutest packaging in my opinion. The vials were secured not only by that cute little box that contains them, but also the bubble wrap around and in between them. The contact lens case is also cute and properly labeled to prevent the mixing up of the lenses, especially in my case because I have different eye grades.

Color, Design, Enlargement and Comfort:

No flash, natural lighting
With flash

The color is very pretty! The grayness of the lens is just right. Not too light, not too dark. It blends really well with my eyes. The design is definitely visible. It is not discreet nor subtle at all. It does not appear pixelated while worn, however, the print is really visible in photos.

The enlargement is amazing! These are 14.8mm lenses so they are huge by themselves. But with the thick limbal ring, my eyes seem much bigger. I think the enlargement is much more visible here than with the Dolly Eye Dreamy I Grey, even if they're just the same size.

Since these are larger circle lenses, I had a hard time putting them on. :p But you'll never ever get it reversed because of the print. When worn, you can still feel the edges of the lenses at first. But as you wear them longer, they get really comfortable or maybe you just get used to them. However, I haven't worn them for 5 hours and they I needed to use some solution in my eyes every now and then to prevent the lenses in my eyes from drying.

More photos:

Makeup used:
Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eyeshadow in Neutral Khakis
Revlon Blast Flipstick in Pucker
Mary Kay Mineral Foundation
Yanqina Eyeliner from Uniqso.com

Overall, it's a nice pair for cosplay or events, but not for everyday use (unless you want weird looks from people). It's comfortable in the first few hours but needs solution thereafter. The design and color is great and the enlargement is just wow! Also, Uniqso people are really accommodating and nice. :)

Don't forget to check out Uniqso.com now to get your own pair of circle lens. By the way, you can buy the lenses that I featured HERE! Use the discount code MFR10 to get a 10% discount from your purchases. :) Also, please check out also the promotions and reward programs they are offering in their website!

15 September 2012

We usually celebrate birthdays in our family in a very simple manner. We often times eat out as a family, except during my 18th birthday when I got to invite some of my friends to join us. We try out new restaurants and sometimes go out of town just to eat, but we love eat-all-you-can buffets! Anyway, this is the first birthday that I celebrated with Z! Of course, I had to limit my birthday shopping and expenses for his upcoming 1st birthday on November. :)

We ate at City Buffet at SM Fairview, by the way. Hmmm. The food was okay, but the choices are too limited for the price. But I love their mini cheesecakes!

Unfortunately, these were the only photos left on my camera because the memory card for some reason decided to delete the contents by itself. I was really sad when the photos got deleted so I decided to buy new shoes and accessories the next day. Teehee!

On me:
Top - Romwe.com
Cardigan - from 168 Mall
Shorts - Romwe.com
Necklace - Romwe.com
Watch - Swatch
Shoes - Shoelala Manila
Glasses - Firmoo.com

On Z:
Shirt - I  NY
Shorts - Baby Gap
Socks - H&M

Anyway, I'm torn between having his birthday at Mcdonalds or Jolibee! What do you guys suggest? :)

NYC New York Color Ultra Moist Lipwear in Retro Red Review

NYC or New York Color probably has the most affordable makeup products in the market. Even cheaper than those from the local brands. The prices of their products starts at around $0.99 to $5.00. For today, I'll be featuring NYC's Ultra Moist Lipwear in Retro Red which my mom bought from CVS.

Info about NYC Ultra Moist Lipwear in Retro Red from their site:

Looking for uptown style? NYC New York Color Ultra Moist LipWear adds instant Upper East Side polish to your look at a rock-bottom price. A wardrobe of on-trend shades makes stealing runway looks simple. Built-in conditioner creates a creamy, dreamy texture on your lips for an ultra moisturized feel. From catwalk to sidewalk in seconds, now you’re ready to take on Manhattan!

Lips feel moisturized and deeply nourished
Comfortable, creamy texture
Easily glides onto lips
Doesn't feather or bleed

Formula with conditioning vitamin E

Swatch on my arm

There is no doubt about the red in the product! The color is a vibrant red. It is more of a red-orange color though, than a bold red shade. But nonetheless, the color is promising and very retro!

On my lips (without flash)

The Good:
- The color is indeed a very bright and retro red! The pigmentation is great, too. This lip color is something I could wear during special occasions and events.
- The color lasts long even if the moisturizing effect has already disappeared. It stains really well!
- The texture is very creamy and it doesn't dry my lips. But I always use a lip balm before putting on lip color.
- It glides on smoothly and evenly.
- It doesn't have a weird or unpleasant taste or smell.
- It's very affordable! Only $0.99! :)

The Not So Good;
- It would have been better if the color is not too orange-y.
- The packaging is not good. It looks cheap and cap gets removed easily.
- The lipstick sometimes smears on my teeth.
- It is not available locally! :(

Have you tried NYC products? :)

XO, Mish
