Kitchenails Trinoma opening + Chef Specials Hand Spa Review

Nail salons are now literally everywhere in Metro Manila. And for some reason, they all seem the same to me. So when I learned about Kitchenails' opening at ATC, I got intrigued because of the unique experience it alleges to offer. And when it finally opened a branch at Trinoma (which is nearer my place), I got excited and thrilled to try it out myself. If you haven't heard of Kitchenails yet, it is basically a nail salon that offers awesome pampering and relaxation through delectable hand and foot spas, mani and pedis, and massages.

During their launch last January 28, 2016, I was finally able to pay Kitchenails Trinoma a visit. Their ATC branch is just too far from me. Anyway, I was absolutely impressed by the interior of the salon. It reminds me of country style kitchens because of the pastel walls and wood counters and furniture. The color scheme is very relaxing, too. The seats are pretty and equally comfortable. You could just sleep in there while having your mani and pedi.

The best thing about Kitchenails is their "menu". They currently offer Single Serve "dishes" if you prefer to avail of a single service (mani, pedi, or change polish) or Entree where you could select the scrub (seasoning), mask (treat), oil, and aperitif. They also have in their menu the Best of Entrees if you didn't want to bother selecting all those. Of course, the highlight of their menu is the Chef Specials Hand and Foot Spa which offers the ultimate delicious and luxurious pampering.

During my visit, I didn't miss the chance to try out one of their services, Chef Specials Hand Spa in Spiced Plum Pannacotta. It offers a delightful and delectable fusion of sweet vanilla and wild plum, a scent which is a big hit for life's sweet moments. Basically this service includes a scrub, mask, massage, cleaning, and regular manicure.

I love how detailed everything was. They'll take your orders by asking your preference in nail shape; if you prefer to file your nails, have your cuticles, dry sides, and/or ingrowns removed; the type of massage you'll avail and if you prefer light of firm pressure in your massage. The "chef" then takes your order form and prepare all the ingredients that will be needed for your service. By the way, I was told that they only use all organic products from scrubs, masks, to oils (except for the nail polish, of course).

You'll then be seated inside where the cooking will happen. For the Chef Specials Hand Spa, the first part includes soaking your hands in a baking pan. The mixture will be whisked first to create bubbles in the soak. They will also scrub your palms lightly with a material similar to a pumice stone. Thereafter, scrub will be applied and massaged in both arms. One of the fun parts of the service was the "Icing Time" wherein they'll put the mask in both arms using a spatula. Cling wrap will then be applied to commence "Baking Time". They'll leave it on for 10 minutes. Lastly, your hands and arms will be treated to a relaxing massage.

Cleaning and polishing the nails are equally amusing. They use marinade injector to apply cuticle gel on the nails. The nail servers are very careful and particular in removing cuticles and dry sides. As for the nail polish, they currently offer LA Colors as their regular polish but you may avail of their premium polishes (Ruby Wing, Orly, China Glaze, etc.) for only P60. They also offer Gel Manicure and Pedicure. I think I saw several Gelish nail polishes at their nail polish cabinet.

After the service, I can't stop smelling my hands. They smell like a sweet dessert! Everything was totally relaxing especially the massage. I opted for a Swedish massage with firm pressure and it was to die for. Another thing that I enjoyed during the Chef Specials mani is the scent of the products used because you'll really get to smell the products as they are applied to your hands and arms. It adds to the experience. I believe that Kitchenails have definitely live up to their tagline "Feed the Senses".

As regards price, I was amazed at how affordable their services are considering that they are inside a premium shopping mall. Some salons offer basic mani and pedi for P200 or more while their services are just for P145 and P160. Their hand spa starts at P300 up to P500. Their foot spa costs around P50 more than the hand spa. And if you get both, their Entrees and Chef Specials cost only P750 and P950, respectively. The entire experience you'll get at Kitchenails is definitely worth every peso.

If you are looking for a unique pampering and relaxation experience, Kitchenails is definitely the place to go. You may locate them at the 3rd Floor of Trinoma Mall in Quezon City. Their store is located near Mindanao Parking and Power Mac Center. Also, check out their Facebook (www.facebook.com/kitchenails) and Instagram (@kitchenails) accounts.
