I've been sick during the past few days and such have made me consider going back to being a vegetarian. While I haven't made a decision yet, there was one blog event that made me totally consider going on a green diet and that is my recent visit at Salad Bowl. My blogger friends and I went all the way to Molito in Alabang to try out their healthy choices.
Salad Bowl opened its doors to the public last year and it has been frequented by many ever since, including celebrities, among others. At first, I was quite intimidated by the idea of going to an organic salad restaurant as I don't find comfort in legit healthy eating. Also, it's not a place I would normally visit. But all my doubts were definitely gone as soon as we were able to try out the first dish that was served to us.
Dynamite may be one of the most common appetizers served in restaurants lately but Salad Bowl's version differs. It consists of local chili and cheese just like the usual but theirs has tons of fresh greens. If you are worried that the chili may be spicy, I didn't find it spicy at all. It has the right amount of spice to keep your appetite going.
The Smoked Fish Barrel is probably one of the dishes that I truly enjoyed that night. It reminded me of Bangus Pate that I was able to try in a famous Filipino restaurant. It was so good that I went for a second serving.
The Vegetable Lasagna does not only look appetizing, it was equally delicious. It was filled with eggplant, tomatoes, cheese, among others. The sauce was surprisingly rich. If you have trouble eating your vegetables, this is one dish that could ease you into it.
The Smoked Salmon Cream Pasta was a hit that night! The sauce was creamy and the pasta was cooked al dente. The smoked salmon gave the dish that salty, smokey goodness. It also has a little bit of spice that's just perfect.
For those who are not fans of salad bowls, you can get your daily dose of greens through their healthy wraps. I love how Salad Bowl has a wide variety of wraps, one of which was the Chicken Inasal Wrap. This local dish made healthy consists of grilled chicken strips with lettuce and tomatoes and wrapped in tortilla wrap.
One dish that made me go "wow!" that night was the Truffle, Bacon, Beef, and Cheese Wrap. Yup, all the good stuff in one wrap! I love how they made all of my favorites a component of a single dish and still remain healthy. I find the dish quite pricey, but it's all worth it, don't you think?
Salad Bowl is all about their Signature Salad Bowls and we were able to try as well a few of the many they offer. The Barbeque Chicken Salad has generous serving of their in house marinated chicken with organic salad and tossed with barbeque sauce. Definitely a must try at Salad Bowl!
Even meat at Salad Bowl is healthy. Their burger is made up of grass fed burger. Flavor is definitely not compromised in this dish. The meat was thickly made and seasoned well. It is topped with egg and served with greens and tomato.
Another healthy meat dish served at Salad Bowl was the Chicken Arugula Pesto. I found the chicken tender and well seasoned. The creamy arugula pesto sauce completed the dish. I thought it would be quite bitter because of the arugula but it wasn't. It even added depth and flavor to the chicken.
The highlight of the night would definitely be the Grilled Beef Tomahawk. Not only did it look delicious, but it was literally to die for! The well-seasoned beef was grilled to perfection. The meat was really tender and juicy. The serving was generous. It has greens and other side dishes to complement the meat. Price is quite steep but it's all worth it!
What makes Salad Bowl different from other restaurants is that they not only serve healthy dishes but they also make sure that they serve only the freshest organic ingredients, both meat and greens, which are delivered from their farm in Cavite every single day.

Salad Bowl's Molito branch is quite spacious - high ceilings, plenty of seats, and earthy decor. They have an open kitchen where you can see your food being prepared. I know you're all curious what Salad Bowl has to offer, here are some of the dishes that we were able to try out:
