When I first heard of Whipped, I thought it has something to do with desserts (like whipped cream lol). Well, the Whipped I encountered a few days back was surely related to something sweet. Whipped is the actually the latest sugar wax and body scrub salon in Manila. This place offers the most fun and sweetest way to get rid of unwanted hair in an instant!
As I have mentioned, I previously visited Whipped's main branch at Ayala Fairview Terraces. Their place is quite an attraction because of their pastel themed salon. Every detail of the salon was well thought of and the colors simply exude fun and sweet. Their Fairview branch is spacious as well. There are 4 separate cubicles where their waxing and scrubbing services are done. They also have a waiting area for companions. What I love most about their place is that it was very clean. As you all know, hygiene is the one of the most important factors to consider when it comes to hair removal treatments.
There are tons of different waxing salons nowadays. What sets Whipped apart aside from being a concept salon is that it only provides all natural ingredients. When it comes to anything that touches our skin, wouldn't we want only organic and natural ingredients? Thus, they make use of lemon, sugar, and water to make a hair removal paste. Sounds yummy, right?
I was in for an eyebrow waxing during my visit. Just so you'll have an idea of the procedure, the area is first wiped to ensure cleanliness. Then, the sugar wax is applied to the skin so that the hair will stick and it is thereafter pulled to remove unwanted hair. It's like waxing without a strip. What was different from the previous sugar waxing experience that I had was that they had to use of powder as a barrier between the wax and the skin. With Whipped, there's no need to use powder because their hair removal wax is very safe to use and won't penetrate into the skin.
Before |
I was so relieved that it didn't hurt as much as threading does. Actually, it didn't hurt at all. The entire procedure lasted around 10 minutes. It only took longer because I asked my sugar technician to remove the tiny hairs above my brows (which the wax couldn't remove) using tweezers. By the way, soothing cream was applied on the area after the procedure. I think it helped minimize the redness.
After. Sorry for the blurry photo! But as you can see the area's not as red and my brows are clean! |
My brows were a bit red after but it was all normal and it subdued after a few minutes. I was advised not to wet the area for the next 4 to 6 hours to prevent irritation. Other than that, I wasn't able to experience any discomfort. My brows hasn't started to grow back yet, but it is recommended to have your brows waxed every month to maintain its shape. Anyway, here's the menu of services that Whipped offers in all of their three branches:
