The search for the most affordable yet effective eye cream never stopped for me. After trying out Natural Looks Eye Gel, I realized that it's perfect for day use (to help soothe and cool my undereyes especially after a sleepless night). Thus, I researched for a moisturizing and whitening eye cream for night use.

During Althea Korea's launch here in the Philippines, I was one of the lucky bloggers that received a pink box of daebak Korean beauty items. I have noticed that they have a wide range of eye creams, gels, and serums available at their site. So I ended up getting the SKINFOOD Salmon Brightening Eye Cream which is one of their cheapest eye creams in their online store.

The first thing I noticed about this product is its packaging. It's just too cute! The colors have a nice elegant yet adorable feel to it. I would love it though if it comes with an applicator or it is in a tube so that it'll be hygienic to use. The ingredients and instructions are dominantly in Korean (with a few English information) but I think there's an English translation of the former at the website. The expiration date is in Korean but there's no problem understanding that.
The product itself was impressive, but not as to what it claims (i.e. brightening). It moisturizes my skin well without the heavy and sticky feeling. A small amount of product goes a long way. A pea sized amount could cover both my eyes. It doesn't have a strong scent which I personally like. While the product glides on smoothly when applied, I have noticed that it takes time to get fully absorbed. That's why I don't use this in the morning because I don't have the time to wait for it to dry. When the product dries and gets completely absorbed though, it leaves a thin oily film but you need not worry about it coming off or being sticky. Thus, making it perfect too for day use.

As regards brightening the eye area, I haven't noticed any significant effect even though this one contains arbutin, I've been using this one for at least 3 months now and I haven't seen any visible lightening around my eyes. Too bad though as it claims to be a brightening eye cream. It doesn't help in subduing my puffy eyes as well because I could see that one when using my eye gel. Nonetheless, it's a decent eye cream especially for someone like me who's in her mid twenties and is scared as hell of wrinkles.

When applied in the eye area. It kind of looks greasy but without the heavy and sticky feel. |
As I have previously mentioned, I got this product at Althea Korea for only P690 (from P1090) for a 30g tub. I am not sure how much it is sold at local SKINFOOD branches but it's available at Zalora for P1415. I think this one's a great buy because I've been using mine for months now and I've only used almost half of the tub. If you're looking for a cheap eye cream for everyday use and has no prevailing issues with wrinkles, fine lines, and the like, this one's definitely for you. But I can't say that the search for the perfect eye cream is over for me. ;)
