Kitchenails Trinoma opening + Chef Specials Hand Spa Review

Nail salons are now literally everywhere in Metro Manila. And for some reason, they all seem the same to me. So when I learned about Kitchenails' opening at ATC, I got intrigued because of the unique experience it alleges to offer. And when it finally opened a branch at Trinoma (which is nearer my place), I got excited and thrilled to try it out myself. If you haven't heard of Kitchenails yet, it is basically a nail salon that offers awesome pampering and relaxation through delectable hand and foot spas, mani and pedis, and massages.

Natural Looks Soothing Cucumber Eye Gel Review

I've always had issues with my dark eye circles and eye bags since high school. I've probably tried a handful of eye creams that allegedly address my issues but none of them worked for me the way I wanted them to. I guess I become impatient after religiously putting on these products for days and not see results. My position regarding eye creams and gels became different when I started trying out Natural Looks Soothing Cucumber Eye Gel.

Natural Looks Philippines Soothing Cucumber Eye Gel Review

If you haven't heard of Natural Looks yet, it is a fragrance and skin care store which originated in London. They also carry skin care products, hair care products, scented Yankee candles, and products exclusively for men. Anyway during their launch last December, I was able to score this Soothing Cucumber Eye Gel along with their Summer Strawberry Body Scrub which I'll be reviewing in another post.

Wet and Wild Megalast Lip Color Review and Swatches

I've been using Wet and Wild Megalast Lipsticks for years now. For some reason, it's the only brand that fits my budget yet has a nice color selection and over-all performance. Anyway, during my mom's recent US trip, the only thing I asked her to get me was this. And I was surprised when she got back because there was a plastic bag filled with WNW lippies for me and my sister to choose from. I got 4 new shades and here's a quick review of the shades that I currently have:

Info about Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color from Wet n Wild's site:

Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips.

This lipstick isn't exactly matte. It has a creamy texture when applied but it looks matte on the lips. I still use lip balm or petroleum jelly before applying the lip color to keep my lips moisturized. The color is very opaque even with just one swipe. I like to apply it generously so that the color would show off even better. A few hours after application, this lipstick tends to leave a stain which looks like lip tint. The pigmentation of the product is definitely great!

The two issues I had with this lip stick are the packaging and the price. The cap of the lipstick falls off easily! Thus, the lipstick itself tends to get damaged. It is a must to put this lipstick in a secure and compact space in your bag. I put mine in a zip lock inside my makeup kit. As regards the price, these lipstick only cost $2.99 at Walgreens or CVS. However, they are sold at double the price at the mall and some online retailers. I wish they would offer these lippies at the same price! Other then those mentioned, I think this product is definitely great, especially for everyday use.

Wet and Wild Megalast Lip Color Review and Swatches Pink Suga Bare It All In the Flesh Sandstorm

1. Pink Suga 900B - It has a very light nude color. I'm not sure what to feel about this color. It makes me look pale! I guess this shade will only work with tons of eye make up.

2. Bare It All 902C - It has a light nude, pink color. I have highly pigmented lips so this kind of makes my face look pale, as well. This would be a nice MLBB shade for fair skinned ladies.

3. In The Flesh 912C - This one has a medium pink, nude color. This is my favorite everyday lip color! At first I thought this would be a dull nude color, but it makes my lips look naturally pink and healthy.

4. Sandstorm 913C - This lippie has a orangey brown color. I use this one as my alternative everyday lipstick. This one's nice for a neutral look.

Wet and Wild Megalast Lip Color Review and Swatches Cherry Bomb Wine Room Mochalicious

5. Cherry Bomb 918D - A dark red color. Love this one to bits! And I've been using it as my go-to lipstick for events and sometimes for school.

6. Wine Room - This one has a medium pink color. It has a nice color but I find it too bright for me though. I only use a little amount as a tint.

7. Mochalicious 914B - It has a mocha brown color as the name suggests. Dark lip colors usually work for me well, but I find this one hard to pull off. But this is a great lip color if paired with the right make-up.

Which one's your fave WNW Megalast Lip Color shade? :)

XO, Mish

When In Alaminos - Hundred Islands National Park

We went to Alaminos two times last year. The first one was last July during a long weekend. We failed to go to Hundred Islands because there was a typhoon. The other one was last November. Everyone in my family was able to come and we finally were able to tour the Hundred Islands National Park. Anyway, I'll be sharing some of the photos from both trips (using iPhone 4 camera and Nikon D5000) and travel tips when visiting Alaminos.

New Planner from Belle De Jour: BDJ Petit Planner 2016

Since classes started only last December, there was no need for me to study in coffee shops. Thus, I ended up caffeine-free and "planner-less" up until before the year ended. I don't religiously write on or monitor my previous planners, but the OC in me wanted one so I headed to the Belle De Jour website to get myself one. I was already decided on getting the Belle de Jour Power Planner in Smythesewn when I saw the BDJ Petit Planner. I was skeptical on getting it though because it didn't have a BDJ Lifestyle Card with it. But I wanted a compact planner which I could carry with me everyday so I ended up getting it. (Goodbye, one year free upsize at CBTL!) I paid via PayPal for the item and it was shipped the following day to my Metro Manila address. It normally costs P320 but I got it for only P300 (5% less for purchasing online) and paid for shipping fee of P50. Anyway, here's what's inside the new BDJ Petit Planner:
