When I was in high school and after my Lip Smackers addiction, I got introduced to The Body Shop's Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm in Strawberry. Since makeup's not allowed at school then, they're kind of the only "makeup" (i.e. as a lip gloss) that I could wear. My Born Lippy days may be over but I'm definitely not over The Body Shop products cause I recently added their Strawberry Lip Butter to my daily skin care routine.
I got a Strawberry Lip Butter as a Christmas gift last December and I totally forgot about it until last summer break. I'm so glad that I was able to remember about it because it's turned out to be my current favorite lip product!
Info about The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter:
This buttery balm melts onto the lips for instant hydration. It contains sweet strawberry seed oil.
- Instant hydration
- Buttery texture
- Leaves lips feeling soft and smooth
As regards packaging, the product is placed in a small tub container. Back then, I thought this one's more economical because you could scrape the product entirely. But I later on learned that this kind of packaging is unhygienic. Nevertheless, you won't have any problems with this kind of container if you clean your hands before using the product. Although the tub is small, ingredients and instructions are all located at the back. I wasn't able to see an expiration date though.

The scent reminds me of the Strawberry Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm. The Strawberry Lip Butter kind of tastes like strawberries too! But this one's a whole lot different than the former when it comes to appearance and texture. The Lip Butter has an opaque white color with a hint of red in it. When applied, it leaves a white cast (especially with my highly pigmented lips). Thus, I only use it for night use.
A little goes a long way with this product |
When applied |
A little product goes a long way. It glides on smoothly when applied and it moisturizes my lips really well. It surely has that buttery soft feel. I need not apply every so often making it indeed perfect for night use. I usually get weird allergies from lip balms, even organic ones. But this one did not irritate my lips at all.
I would love to use it during daytime but I would have trouble using it outside due to hygiene issues. Moreover, I am not fan of the white cast it leaves my lips when applied. But this one's a great buy since it keeps my lips hydrated and moisturized. I think its performs a whole lot better than the Born Lippy Lip Balm.
As I have previously mentioned, this one's given to me as a gift. But it is available at any The Body Shop store for only P350 (currently on sale at The Body Shop SM Fairview for only P250!).
XO, Mish
