National University Pep Squad donates to SM Cares for Yolanda Survivors

I was a cheerleader myself (from way back) and a huge fan of the UAAP Cheerleading Competition, as well. So imagine my excitement when I was invited to attend the National University (NU) Pep Squad's thanksgiving celebration for bagging the championship at the 77th UAAP Cheerdance Competition. I usually watch the competition on TV, but seeing the winner of the competition live and up close is just more exciting!

During the thanksgiving celebration, the NU gymnasium was filled with students and professors, together with SM executives to personally meet the champions. Applause and cheers welcomed NU Pep Squad during the repeat performance of their winning performance. Let me say that their routine and execution was flawless!

As a preview of their amazing performances, here is a clip of their jaw-dropping and heart-stopping group stunting performance:

The overwhelming support from their alma mater led the NU Pep Squad to donate a portion of their prize winnings to the Yolanda survivors through SM Cares Yolanda Housing Project. This is their way of giving back to the community and helping those who are in need. It was also a great news that made the entire NU community more proud of their Pep Squad.

SM Cares is committed to build 1,000 houses to help Yolanda survivors. These houses are designed to be disaster-resilient with concrete ceilings and plenty of ventilation.

Congratulations, NU Pep Squad! :)

XO, Mish
