A Sneak Peek to the Coby Kyros MID9042 9" Android 4.0 4GB with Wi-Fi

It is not easy to carry fifty to one hundred pages of photocopied cases to school everyday, especially when you live around 25 kilometers away from your school. After enduring a few months of a possible prelude to scoliosis, I finally gave in and asked my parents to buy me a tablet. I did not bother asking parents to get me a high end one, namely an Ipad, cause I would just use it to read cases which I could download from the Internet. After some research and comparison, my dad got me a Coby Kyros tablet.

Here's the specifications of the Coby Kyros MID9042 9":
  • General Memory: Internal: 4GB Flash
  • Removable: microSDHC card slot (max 32GB)
  • Display Type: 9" touchscreen TFT LCD
  • Display resolution: 1280 x 800 (SVGA-standard)
  • Touchscreen: Capacitive
  • A/V Connections: Mini HDMI out, Type C (max 1080p)3.5mm headphone out
  • Operating system: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Camera: Front; 0.3MP
  • Auto Rotation Sensor: Yes
  • Processor: Allwinner A10 (Cortex A8) 1GHz
  • RAM: 1GB DDR3
  • Wireless networking: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Battery: Li-Poly (3.7V, 5000mAh)
  • Power: DC 5V Adapter
  • Additional features: Integrated microphone
  • Integrated stereo speakers
  • PC interface: USB 2.0 Hi-speed
  • Pre-installed applications: Aldiko eReader, Document Viewer, Calendar, Clock, Calculator

I've haven't heard of the brand, Coby, before so I was quite skeptical with the performance and durability of the product. Not that I am really techie, but I could say that I was satisfied with the performance of the product given its price.

First of all, it allows me to browse my documents and e-books in an instant. The touch screen is responsive and easy to use. Plus, it's a lot lighter to carry than fifty pages of photocopied materials. You could install Android applications in your tablet. Although the pre-installed app, GetJar, where you could get your apps is not that reliable, in my opinion. I still get most of my apps online which is not that hard since the tablet is WiFi capable. If you do not have WiFi in your area, you could save your apps on  a flash disk which could be accessed through a Coby Tablet or you could directly connect your tablet to a desktop computer using the USB cable. I usually do this to transfer files easily. Given that the Coby Kyros tablet is WiFi capable, I could also access my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts with ease. However, I usually post photos which I have taken from another camera cause I don't like that much the quality of the tablet's camera. What I love most about this tablet is that it has an expandable memory up to 32 GB without paying extra. I could store more books, movies, photos, games and applications (which I actually did last summer) as compared to other tablets.

The Coby Kyros MID9042 9" Android 4.0 4GB with Wi-Fi contains the Coby Tablet, a battery, adapter, manual, and a USB cable.

If you're into games, social, e-books or simply want a tablet for such an affordable price, I recommend you get the Coby Kyros MID9042 9" Android 4.0 4GB with Wi-Fi. This one's available at Lazada.com.ph for only P5,689.00 (with free shipping) instead of P8,499.00 for a limited time only!
