I've never imagined myself wearing corporate attires when I was little. Those black, stuffy, padded blazers are definitely not my thing. Growing up, I was actually a weird girl. I'd pick out my own clothes and wear clothes that would stand out even if I get weird stares from people. I have always hated wearing uniforms because I don’t like wearing the same thing as others. College became a huge relief for me because I could go to school in any outfit that I want.

When I was young, I also wanted to become a host of The Lonely Planet, or become an astronaut, or write story books for kids, or become a fashion designer, or anything unusual. It’s either I get a fun job or I don’t want to become an adult. I saw the adult world as plain and boring. Adults had to do stuff routinely. Go to work, pay the bills, clean the house, do the dishes, etc. Although I realized when I was getting older that becoming an adult is inevitable. I had to become one. But nonetheless, I, too, have realized that being an adult can be also fun and fashionable.

As an aspiring lawyer, it is important that I look polished and presentable at all times. Dresses, heels, and most importantly, blazers, are now part of my daily wardrobe. While I like to keep things simple whenever I go to law school, I still make it sure that I incorporate cool and fun stuff like neon accessories or printed pieces. We all know that corporate attires have always been in black or neutral tones. Well, I prefer mine to be in pink. In my opinion, pink is the new black. Corporate world, or any other field, is no longer restricted to men and I don’t want to wear black just because I had to fit in a man’s territory. Women should be empowered and simply themselves. Think Elle Woods.

I am disappointed that most of the stores still do not carry unconventional corporate attires. That’s why I’m thankful I found The Ramp Crossings! All of the pieces in my set (except the bag :p) was from their site. They are truly a one-stop fashion shop. You could get their gorgeous items not only from their stores, but also from their online shop, therampcrossings.com. They carry in their store different clothes, shoes, and accessories that would match any style. If you haven't been to any The Ramp store, you should visit one now. I've been to the branch at Quezon Ave. and there are lots of pretty dresses and other clothes on sale and the shoes are drool-worthy, too!

I may now be an adult now, but I'll always be forever young and girly at heart. Thank God for The Ramp Crossing cause their amazing pieces definitely matched my Polished in Pink style! I bet their items will match your style, too. :)

What's your style statement? :)

  10. Since I left my job, I sort of miss wearing something corporate but that's one of the beauty of loving dressing up. I wear what I like and I like what I wear.

    1. With law school, I have to wear corporate attire all the time. But I agree, it's important to wear what I like so that I'll feel comfortable and confident. :)
