Body Issues of a Young Mom

I thank God for my genes because I never really had issues with my body figure when I was younger. I might  not have a towering height nor the perfect vital statistics but I consider myself blessed, if you know what I mean. I have always been confident with what God gave me as far as I can remember. I used to be a wardrobe daredevil as I could pull off a two piece swim wear or a cropped top with ease and confidence. I even had my belly button pierced and accessorized because I was extremely proud of my healthy body.

I have something like this in red, black, and white.
Photo from Google Images

Aside from what I naturally have, I have always been active and healthy with what I put into my body. I have been a pesco-vegetarian for 6 years now and I also used to do cheer leading and gymnastics since high school. Of course, I had to wear midriff-bearing cheer costumes on national TV and I had no issues with it. I am proud whenever I wear my cheer costume because it is not just a costume that I am wearing but the pride of the team I am carrying. After quitting with cheer leading, I still go to the gym whenever I could or go for a jog whenever I have time. You could say that I was very happy with my body figure.

My graduation's creative shot. I will always be a cheerleader. :D

AND THEN, I HAD A BABY.

Just about to pop!
That was the greatest turning point of my life. I was still finishing my undergraduate course and have plans of entering law school after I graduate. I felt like my dreams of becoming a lawyer was just crushed to tiny pieces. Of course, having Z is still the best thing that has ever happened to me. He's such an angel and I love him so much. But my pregnancy has left permanent changes to my body. The stretchmarks may be minimized with topical creams, but it will never disappear. The belly button piercing left an ugly scar.  As for my tummy, I could diet and exercise all I want, but it will never be in the same shape and elasticity ever again. Good thing there are high waist undergarments and girdles that offer lots of support and helps in tucking in the waist. I actually stopped wearing my low waist undergarments and settled with the few high waist maxi underwear I got. Yes, they might look like granny underwear but I need all the support that I could get.

Wacoal High Waist Girdle

Wacoal Medium Support Shape Pants
The fisrt photo above is a high waist girdle from Wacoal. That piece is absolutely perfect to use after birth. I had to wear a thick girdle because I had a C-section delivery, but I only wore it for a week cause it was hot and stuffy. This one seems more comfortable to use as it is made of light weight materials, but it provides all the support that you'll ever need. The second photo on the other hand is definitely perfect for everyday use. It provides medium coverage and support to help tuck in the waist and create a perfect figure. The great thing about this is that it doesn't look like granny underwear because of it's very sophisticated design.

Wacoal Maternity Bra
Aside from issues with my tummy, I have noticed that my breasts have become saggy even though I am not exclusively breastfeeding my baby. I have been exclusively pumping for my baby, so I guess breastfeeding and pumping has the same effects on the breast.  I was quite disappointed with how my breasts turned out to be, sad and saggy, but I assume that is inevitable. At least, I know that I am giving the best for my baby. Anyway, I had to dispose of all of my pre-pregnancy bras, except for one, cause they won't fit me well anymore. It's either they don't provide the support that my breasts need. or the cup size is too small. A maternity bra such as shown on the photo above can be helpful in giving support and lift to my breasts while providing ease in my pumping sessions.

Me and Z, 5 months post pregnancy
I might be a mom now but I am still young. I still have all the time to fulfill all of my dreams with the help of my supportive family. I am now enrolled at one of the best law schools in the country. And of course, I still want to look great all the time now that I am entering a new chapter in my life. I could totally rock my corporate attire with the help of Wacoal's underwear! With these proper undergarments to support my body and boost my figure, that confidence I had before could definitely be revived. I am glad that Wacoal has a solution to every body issue such as mine. Their wide range of products could definitely make every woman of any age confident and happy!

  2. I'm very very lucky!! I have two little kids and my body shape didn't change anything at all. I think that has to do with genetics and lifestyle, because my mother had 7 children, and my grandmother too, and they also didn't change anything ;)
