Tablea Brownies

I've never been interested in baking, or cooking, until recently. I guess motherhood makes a person more inclined to home-making activities. ;) I've only experienced baking cookies (chocolate chip, triple chocolate chip and oatmeal) so far because it is the easiest to make and this is actually the first time I made brownies from scratch! Since my mom received lots of tablea chocolate last Christmas and we don't know how to make use of it except for making hot chocolate drink, I decided to look up for a tablea brownie recipe over the Internet and found one at Yummy.ph.

1 cup butter
1 cup chopped tablea tsokolate
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
7 large eggs
1/4 cup chopped nuts

For the tablea-jam sauce
2 tablea tsokolate
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar (less if you want it less sweet)

1  Preheat oven to 350ºF.

2  In a pan, melt together butter and tablea tsokolate; cool.

Letting my tablea and butter mixture cool.

3  In a bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, and salt. Beat eggs in butter-tablea mixture. Fold in dry ingredients; do not overmix. Transfer to 2 prepared 8x8-inch pans and sprinkle with nuts over each pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

Oven-ready! (I wasn't able to add nuts because my mom failed to buy yesterday.)

I panicked! It looks like a disaster. :| But it flattened eventually.

4   To make the tablea-jam sauce: Boil tablea tsokolate with water and sugar until thick and the tablea is melted. Swirl in a tablespoon or two of black currant jam or your preferred jam. Serve on the side with the  brownies.

My tablea brownies with tablea sauce! :)

The brownie was not sweet at all! It is kind of a dry brownie though. But it has a very rich chocolate flavor. Great for desert or merienda! :)
